After a rough few weeks, we needed to focus on getting our act together and having fun. We found ourselves smiling and laughing at some of our memories as we edited photos and videos. Here are a few of the silliest moments from our trip.
Matt taught Willy about the ways of the GoPro camera on Lake Kivu in Kibuye, Rwanda.
Nose picker! The five-year-old in each of us finds this funny.
I am not a bird fan, but I sure thought I was brave & cool trying to befriend these birds. Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
We thought we were so clever taking this mirror-kissing selfie in Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania. It took about six tries before I realized Matt was using the photo as an excuse to keep kissing me on the cheek.
No, the black circle in the middle of the photo is a gorilla. Good thing we took lots of pictures and videos of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda.
One of our Spice Tour guides in Zanzibar is preparing for the new Star Wars release.
Matt wishes he had as much hair as the Gelada monkeys in Simien Mountains, Ethiopia. Their hair was long and crimped, reminding us of 80’s hair band rockers.
Heather is taking a peek at the famous Man At Work sculpture in Bratislava, Slovakia. Nope, we weren’t able to see his bum.
Matt makes a perfect Pinocchio in Florence, Italy. The ears are the best part.
Heather used her hair to show the boys at EDD what it would be like to have long hair. Kigali, Rwanda.
We thought leg selfies could be just as instagrammy and fun as face selfies. Kylemore Abbey, Galway, Ireland.
Possibly the most enormous penis in the world in Reykjavik, Iceland. Almost as tall as Heather. No need to say more.
The timing of this shot cracks us up. Nhkata Bay, Malawi.
Matt looks mischievous in this photo, and I can’t remember why I was laughing. But it makes us laugh now. Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
The conehead distortion and the tie. Zanzibar, Tanzania,
Matt thought he was funny, telling me, “One more second,” as the wind blew my dress, and he snapped photos of my swimsuit bottoms. The Rock, Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The desperation of a good fist bump. Even Hobee was not amused. Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Heather’s love for the grilled potatoes at Nyirangarana Market in Rwanda. Freakishly obsessed.
This guy was following so close. When the lead elephant stopped, the little guy ran into his leaded face first. Reminded us of the elephant marching scene in The Jungle Book. David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Nairobi, Kenya.
Heather tries a local Ethiopian mixture of Tej and Araqe liquor. Her reaction says it all – excuse the language. Danakil Depression, Ethiopia.
