High Fives: Countries we want to visit but haven’t…YET

Heather’s Top Five List

This is a tough one because I want to go everywhere. So here it is, in no particular order, the most dreamy places I haven’t been to …YET.

Maldives – the water bungalows, of course.

Antarctica – the vastness and the possibility of riding on a dog sled. Mush!

Ecuador– in particular, the Galapagos Islands. I am an animal lover and was a biology major. Darwin is a pretty big deal. Come on, who doesn’t want to see a nesting blue-footed booby, tortoise and iguana cohabiting.

Cuba – I love the idea that you get to step back in time. Don’t forget the cigars and food.

Tuvalu – the challenge to get there, the remoteness, very few travelers visiting, and it may not be around much longer.

Matthew’s List of Five

I find myself in pretty much the same boat as Heather on this one; I will almost go anywhere.  But for the time being, these are the big ones on my list.

Botswana – has the largest elephant population left on the planet, and they are actively trying to protect them.  Good enough to get my business.

Iceland – Can you say “Fjords,” a landscape photographer’s wet dream?

Myanmar – I like the idea of traveling a slightly less beaten path.  Plus, there is a good feeling that will go along with supporting the locals and sticking it to the man!

Patagonia – Technically not a country, but two, I know. Cape Horn, Straight of Magellan, vast space, and the best way to Antarctica (wink wink, elbow to the gut) {ouch}.

Thailand – Who doesn’t want to hang out with super friendly people, have cheap, tasty food, and relax on some of the most picturesque beaches?
